To say that President Donald Trump’s start to his Presidential term in office has been rocky, might be an understatement. So far the amount of media interest and public vilification has yet to subside. It might appear to those living outside of the U.S.A. that President Donald Trump has bearing and influence well beyond the United States due to the media interest around the world in his performance and the ground swell of opposition in many different countries to his policies.
One of his biggest errors in judgement has been making the media his enemy. The media are always ready and waiting to lap up any miscalculation, outburst and odd behaviour because that sells newspapers and stories. Make the media your enemy and they will love you for it. Unless you’re President Vladimir Putin of course…at least the media in America is free to report on whatever they want.
One of the most popular reported subjects since he has come to office has been his state of mind. Is he a narcissistic megalomaniac who craves the limelight and needs the adoration of others in order to feel accepted and justified?
The question of his mental health is now snowballing into a debate on whether or not the so-called ‘Goldwater Rule’ should be rescinded. Some health professionals are worried that “His words and behavior suggest a profound inability to empathize” and this would make him “incapable of serving safely as president.”
However, ignoring any perceived mental instability issues of President Donal Trump for a moment, how many of these health professionals voted for Donald Trump in the election?
We are all predisposed to different points of view. Whether it’s your choice in a different flavour of ice-cream or your choice of music, we all make different choices and have different outlooks on life. In the United Kingdom there is a product that is spreadable on toast or bread called Marmite. It has such a distinctive taste that some people love it and some hate it. It polarises people’s opinions. Donald Trump is polarising people’s opinions about himself and the way in which he is running the United States of America.
But let’s just stop for a moment and consider the ‘man’ who is in office. Donald Trump is a very successful businessman and a former television personality. He is someone who owns or manages about 18 golf courses, is worth several billion dollars and owns several other business interests. He has been highly successful in business not for a demur attitude to his business dealings but because he has drive, passion and commitment to see his business dealings through to completion.
These attributes may not be a perfect fit for somebody in the role of President of the United States of course but let’s remember that he is a fallible human being who needs our prayers, just like Barack Hussein Obama needed them.
He needs our prayers especially now that the witches of America have started publically casting spells to remove him from office. Funny isn’t it that these same witches didn’t publically cast spells on his predecessor?
As a Christian this confirms to me the passage in Ephesians 6:10-12,
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
The witches in America and across the world have aligned themselves against President Donald Trump which, by logical conclusion, must mean that satan is rattled and is rallying his forces! Is President Trump God’s man in office? God told the prophet Daniel that “the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes” (Daniel 4:25) and “he deposes kings and raises up others” (Daniel 2:21).
Yes he said some things that are wrong, sexist and left field but if we believe in a sovereign God who is in control then God, not Man, put him into Office.
He maybe be Marmite to the masses but for those Christians in America they should be praying for their democratically elected President and his state of mind.
